Enjoying Your Destination Wedding
Congratulations! You’re engaged! I bet it was simply beautiful and now you’re a heady mix of overjoyed … and overwhelmed.
In this crazy-busy world of constant movement, chances are good that you and your fiancé come from different places. Should you marry in his hometown or yours? Or should you break with tradition entirely and try something fabulous overseas? A destination wedding sounds like a brilliant idea in theory, but bringing it to fruition comes with a unique set of challenges to the busy modern bride.
Hello, I’m Nic! My husband and I very recently returned from our destination wedding in Hoi An, Vietnam, where Lotus Events managed our week for us. I love weddings, and love to travel. The thought of combining these two singularly awesome activities into an epic confluence of love, champagne and sunsets appealed to my fiancé and I massively. So here’s a little of what I learned. How far in advance should we book the wedding date?
We strongly recommend booking your wedding date a minimum 9 months in advance. This will provide your guests with enough time to make travel plans and ensure that the venue of your choosing is available. Hoi An is becoming an increasingly popular wedding destination and we’d hate for you to miss out!
Are last minute weddings possible?
Absolutely! Last minute weddings are possible. However, they will be subject to venue availability.
Can you help with the legal paperwork?
Lotus Events does not look after the legal aspect of your marriage. Unless you or your partner are Vietnamese, your marriage will not be legally recognized here in Vietnam, and all paperwork and legalities must be completed in your home country. If you are living in Vietnam please contact your respective Embassy or Consulate to complete formalities.
Can we visit the venues before the wedding?
Yes, pre-wedding visits are possible. According to the type of wedding and your requirements, we will arrange visits to your chosen venues and confirm all additional services.
Do we need a visa to enter Vietnam?
Yes, you must have a visa to enter Vietnam. This can be arranged through the Vietnamese Embassy or consulate in your home country. Visas on arrival are also now a possibility, and we can help you arrange these. Please ensure that all your guests are aware of visa requirements.
Can you arrange local accommodations?
We are happy to recommend and assist with accommodation and travel arrangements for you and your guests. Please provide us with details of your requirements and we can source suitable accommodation for you.
What is the payment method for your services?
We will process all the arrangements after a deposit of 50% of the total amount has been paid. The final balance payment must be settled 30 (thirty) days prior to your wedding day.
Our cancellation fees are as follows:
- 60 days prior to event is 50% of the total price.
- 30 days prior to event is 75% of the total price.
- Within 30 days is 100% of the total price.
Are there any hidden costs in the presented prices?
We endeavor to provide you with accurate costs prior to your arrival; all prices are inclusive of government taxes and fees. Final prices are subject to guests’ numbers and services provided. Pricing may alter due to inflation or currency fluctuations, however we do all possible to honor quoted prices and keep guests apprised of any changes.
How can we be assured of your service reliability?
You are welcome to collect references from couples we have worked with in the past and we are happy to put you in touch. We also invite you to review the testimonials on our Why Us page.
